It
is July 3, 1863. Corporal Seth Adams of the 124th New York Volunteers, who
was shot through the breast defending Devil's Den on the second day of the
Battle of Gettysburg, stumbles into a house behind Confederate lines. Here
he finds three other Union soldiers wounded physically or emotionally.
"Zinger" Zook is a sadistic killer; Eldred Spenser wrote
anti-war editorials before enlisting; Davey Kinkaid, a teenager from
Philadelphia, hides a deep emotional secret. They are joined
by a young Confederate escaping from the cannonading that preceded
Pickett's Charge. While the war rages outside, the men "battle"
inside the house. But not before they are finally rescued, the men perform
some heroic and near-miraculous deeds.
The Actors' Equity Association production is scheduled
